Maguro no Tataki/Seared Tuna

If you don’t like raw tuna, you can introduce yourself to the world of sashimi by half cooking the fish.

Simply take a slice of fresh tuna and fry a few seconds on each side in a slightly greased skillet on medium high. It should turn white. Remove from the pan when each side has been cooked.

Slice and serve on a bed of salad.

The salad can be made from wakame, finely sliced cucumber and finely sliced green onion. Toss the ingredients in a dressing of white miso, sesame paste, a bit of sugar, a bit of vinegar, soy sauce, and mustard paste.
